MACROAGGRESSION: Some events of macroagression
The Trayvon Martin and Zimmerman case is an example of macroaggression because George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin, because he thought that he was a criminal without knowing anything about him and he racially profiled him.
In the novel to Kill a Mockingbird, the town thought that Tom Robinson raped Mayella, because off his race.
Also in to Kill a Mockingbird the town worshiped separately. There was a white church and a black church.
A current example of macroaggression is how a young girl named Malala from Pakistan was shot in the forehead while riding on a bus, because she wanted to receive an education. This is an example of macroaggression due to gender discrimination.
A historical example of macroaggression is the Japanese American internment which was the World War II internment. These were war relocation camps of over 110,000 people of Japanese heritage who lived on the Pacific coast of the United States. The U.S. government ordered the internment in 1942, shortly after Imperial Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.
MICROAGRESSION:
When a person of color is being told that they may not fit in to a predominantly white school.
People hating on president Obama, because of his race.
Also in the novel to Kill a Mockingbird has microagressions, because Scout's teacher did not want her father to teacher how to read.
Also in to Kill a Mockingbird Tom Robinson was killed because he tried to run away. Nobody in town cared for his death other than his family.
Another example of microaggression is when people do not believe that President Obama is an American citizen from the state of Hawaii and are always requesting proof of his birth records.
